Swida-RINGS

An airborne campaign to map and investigate most of the major outlet glaciers of Antarctica.

Swida-RINGS

Final stages of preparation for the SWIDA-RINGS Project

Two AS350 helicopters and two Twin Otters are in the final stages of preparation for an Antarctic expedition under the SWIDA RINGS project. These aircraft will play a crucial role in mapping and investigating major outlet glaciers across the continent. The mission aims to collect vital data for understanding the ice mass balance of Antarctica. Additionally, it seeks to refine remote sensing satellite measurements and reduce errors in ice sheet modeling. The team is in the last days of readiness, poised to contribute significantly to climate science.
